Film Industry Experienced Bookkeeper

Job Description
We are currently seeking 2 bookkeepers with Film Industry Experience to join our team. One part-time and one full-time positions are available

Responsibilities:
• Full-Cycle Bookkeeping, payroll and governmental reporting
• MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH FILM INDUSTRY ACCOUNTING
• Experience dealing with the National Film Institute (and other film agencies) for government reporting and funding applications.
• Perform Bank and similar accounts reconciliation
• T4/T5 Preparation and reconciliations
• Preparation of personal income tax returns including sole proprietors
• Visit client’s office to provide bookkeeping as required
• Follow-up diligently with clients and external agencies for information
• Provide exceptional client service through impeccable communication, courtesy and respect
• Complete files accurately with close attention to deadlines, budget and recovery
• Maintain up-to-date accounting and tax knowledge by participating in external and internal training as required
• Adhere to all professional obligations and ethical standards
• Contribute to and participate in Phoenicians unique culture and corporate mission

Required Skills:
• Minimum of 3-5 years bookkeeping experience (some Canadian experience mandatory)
• Minimum of 1 year payroll experience
• Experience working with profit orientated enterprises and Not-for-profit organizations
• Accurate and efficient data-entry
• Must be able to take Accounting knowledge and apply it to real life situations
• Demonstrated strong experience with Quickbooks, Profile, and Simply Accounting
• Personable approach and outstanding customer service
• Well organized, net, detail-orientated, able to multi-task and self manage
• Self driven, quick-learner, conscientious and outstanding attitude
• Thrive in a culture of continue learning and improvement
• Valid Alberta drivers license and access to a vehicle
